How to MANIFEST the Partner of Your DREAMS!

It took a long time in life for me to realize I deserved to be with someone who would love me back, treat me well and respect my boundaries, but after my last relationship ended, I was committed to that belief. I was committed to the idea that someone was out there who would treat me well, but I was also painfully aware of the fact that somewhere along the way, I stopped loving myself. I stopped believing in my self-love. So, I dedicated six months to me, no one else. No dating. I chose to make the conscious decision to fall in love with me again and start dreaming about life. I dreamt of how I wanted my body to be, what I wanted to learn, foods to eat, music to listen to. There was a beauty in manifestation mixed with discovery. Over time I started to go through old journals. Think about what my past was and get clear about my present and future. I wanted to be intentional about manifesting the life I wanted. While sifting through it all, I saw a list that I must have wrote when I was 21 or 22. It had over 50 things I wanted in a partner. I laughed because it was quite specific. It got me thinking that part of me never really believed that this list as possible, so I drew other people who were incapable of fulfilling the line items and would therefore always be disappointed. This idea brought about the thought that maybe I needed to dig deeper, perhaps I needed a smaller list and left the rest open for whoever came. So, I made another list of five items, asking myself the question, "What do I need that I cannot live without?" Here is what came to mind:

  • I needed to be with someone who respected me who I could respect.

  • I needed to be with someone who would love me, who I could love in return.

  • I needed someone who had a moral compass.

  • I needed someone who was monogamous with who I would also be monogamous with.

  • I wanted someone creative and musically inclined.

I sat with that list, and it felt good to me. I threw the old list into a box with all my other journals and figured it would stay there until the end of its days. A month later, I was asked to a party, and I met this young guy, with stars in his eyes, who told me he wanted to live in Hawaii someday. He was an audio and light technician Manager for Western Washington University, a model, and a college student. The reality is that when I met him, I still had not finalized my six-month focus on myself. So, I dismissed the thought initially. Yet, his persistence, steadiness, and unwavering determination led to an unexpected romance that has lasted over seven years, but that is a story for another time. Three years or so after we were a couple, I looked through that box, and much to my surprise, I found the list and read it — you know, the list of 50 things I wanted in a partner? He met all 50. The moral of the story is that you don’t have to settle but sometimes if you are focused on every minute detail, you may miss out on drawing in that human for you, if that is your wish.
